Providing engaging and authentic professional photography to transform your school website or prospectus design.
The old adage is that a ‘picture is worth a thousand words’ and this is especially true when it comes to the photography you use to market your school. Whether you’re using your images on your school website, in your prospectus or to decorate your school walls, you want prospective parents to be able to visualise their child at your school.
You need vibrant, engaging and authentic imagery to show your school or trust at its very best.
At edupic, we have the skills and experience to help you get the most from your photography shoot and achieve high quality finished results that you can be truly proud of and cherish. Our cost-effective photography options will help you to give your visitors a professional, inviting and positive first impression of your school.
Organise your schedule
We recommend that your day is planned in advance to allow the maximum amount of photography time available and ensure that we capture all of the images you require. A timetable outlining the lessons, timings and activities you have prepared is a great way to do this.
We are more than happy to photograph ‘staged’ lessons if these aren’t occurring naturally within the day, just please make sure any equipment needed is ready to go. Ideally we’d say to allocate 20 minutes per activity and a bit more for practical subjects such as science, PE and music.
Prepare your school
Designating a member of staff to accompany us on the day is great for ensuring we get successfully from A to B!
We don’t like to surprise anyone so make sure your staff are aware of the shoot and that their classrooms are prepared in advance. This may include straightening tables, cleaning up mess and even potentially repairing anything that needs attention to ensure it gives the best first impression, should the area appear in shot. The photographer will try their best to avoid any mess, and if there is anything you would particularly like them to avoid, please say.
Request parental consent
You will need to obtain consent from everybody involved in the photography day and this includes staff, students and any parents or visitors. You will need to get consent for them to appear in the photos as well as permission to allow the images to be used on your website and/or in any marketing materials that you will be producing. If you can get permission for us to use a handful on our website too – that would be amazing!
When organising the day, please take into account any individuals who do not have consent, to ensure that they are removed from the room/area when we are taking the photos.
Inform your students
on’t forget to let your students know when the shoot will be occurring and get them excited about the day! Schools have unfortunately had to discard some photos in the past due to incorrect uniform or non-regulation hair and makeup, so please remind your students of what is acceptable and if possible, check on the day too. If you’re planning to take photos of sports lessons or clubs, make sure they know the correct PE kit to wear – especially if you’re getting pictures of summer and winter sports on the same day.
We’ll try and keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary but it’s a good idea to get staff to keep a watchful eye out for these things too!
Booking your dates.
It’s easy to book, simply give us a call or drop us an email to find a date that works for us both. We will listen to your requirements, send you a quote and then book you in with one of our experienced team.
Briefing our team.
We’ll send you a briefing document with lots of useful hints and tips as soon as you’ve booked and then be on hand to answer any questions you may have in the lead up to your shoot. We’ll also give you a ring prior to the day to make sure you’ve got everything that you need!
Your photography shoot.
We’ll arrive for the start of the school day (or earlier if arranged in advance) and then the fun really starts! Our goal is to make your photography day as enjoyable and stress-free as possible, engaging with your staff and students to create those all important shots.
Editing & post-production.
Once we’ve completed your photography day, we’ll head back to our studio to begin the editing process. We’ll utilise the latest industry-standard software to provide you with a high number of expertly edited images in both web and high resolution versions.
Around a week after your shoot, you’ll receive a link from us to your very own personal password protected gallery which will display all of your edited images in an easy to display format. From here you’ll be able to download and share your images with your community.
We initially contacted Edupic following a recommendation and we are so glad we did.
