Video content is a powerful medium and is brilliant for showcasing your school or trust to prospective parents, employees and your community. Whether you’re interviewing the Headteacher, taking a walk down memory lane with your alumni(ae) or sharing a glimpse of a day in the life of a student, specialist videography for your school is definitely the way to go.

Organise your schedule
Effective organisation is crucial, and we recommend you pre-schedule your day to ensure we capture all the footage you need. Creating a plan that outlines lessons, timings, and activities is a helpful approach, streamlining logistics and maximising filming time at your school.
We’re also open to photographing ‘staged’ lessons if they don’t occur naturally during the day. Just ensure any required equipment is prepared in advance.
Prepare your school
To avoid surprises, kindly inform your staff about the upcoming filming and request them to prepare their classrooms ahead of time.
Since our approach involves filming rather than static photos, there’s a possibility of capturing a broader view of the school. Please consider this and ensure outdoor spaces are neat and litter-free. Assigning a staff member to accompany us during the day is also essential for smooth navigation from location to location.
Request parental consent
For the videography shoot, it’s important to obtain consent from all participants, including staff, students, parents, and visitors. This consent covers their appearance in the video as well as the use of their images on your website or marketing materials. If possible, allowing us to use a short segment of footage on our website would be greatly appreciated.
While planning the day, please consider those who haven’t given consent and ensure they are excluded from the filming area.
Inform your students
Remember to inform your students about the filming schedule and build anticipation for the day! In the past, some schools had to discard footage due to incorrect uniforms or non-compliant hair and makeup. Please remind students of the guidelines beforehand, and if possible, verify on the day. If you’re planning to capture sports lessons or club activities, ensure students are aware of the appropriate PE kit, especially if you’re featuring both summer and winter sports.
We’ll do our best to spot anything incorrect, but it’s also very helpful to have staff on the lookout for these aspects too!
The process.
Amends and final cut.
Once you have seen the first draft of your video there may be a few changes you’d like to make and we’re more than happy to make amends for you. We’ll work collaboratively with you until you are completely happy with the finished edit. We’ll then send across a link to your own password protected gallery, where you can view, download and share your finished video footage.
Editing & post-production.
Once we’ve completed your photography day, we’ll head back to our studio to begin the postproduction process. We’ll utilise the latest industry-standard software to cut down and edit all of the footage from your day into a short film ready for you to review.
Your videography shoot.
We’ll arrive for the start of the school day (or earlier if arranged in advance) and then the fun really begins! Our goal is to make your video shoot as enjoyable and stress-free as possible, engaging with your staff and students to create that all important footage.
Briefing our team.
Once your booking is confirmed, we will send you a briefing document with lots of useful hints and tips and we’ll then be on hand to answer any questions you may have in the lead up to your filming day. We’ll also give you a call in the week leading up to the shoot to make sure you’ve got everything that you need!
